7. From Nancho, we started back to Siliguri and passed by the famous tea plantations, near Daarjeling, which exports tea to the entire world. What a wonderful place! Then, we passed a place near the border with Bhutan. We saw many soldiers returning from the Indian border that they had been protecting because of a conflict between China which also borders Bhutan;

3. We arrived in Sankar, a type of ministry center. There we met Pastor Bimal and his wife Mala, who take care of the church. We also met brother Rohit Roi, his wife Igot and Khrozote, the teacher who cares for children from the orphanage that is next to the church;
First Report of Trip to India
2. We left for Bagdogra, where Pastor Athem, who is part of the IGM (Vision 2020 for Asia) was waiting at the airport. We introduced ourselves, grabbed a bag with less clothes and left by car the same day for Sikkim, a state in the extreme northeast of India. What a wonderful place. It was a shame that it was so cloudy while we were there, because otherwise we would have been able to see the snowy peaks of the Himalayas. We saw Mount Everest in the distance from the airplane... Our drive was 4 hours of unending curves on a narrow road. In many places, the roads were washed out by the water that flows steadily toward the rivers at the foot of these mountains and eventually drains into the famous Ganges River;
1. We arrived in New Delhi on October 15, the same day that our son Jairo André turned 17! We stayed in Delhi for two days waiting for the flight to Bagdogra. During this time we went out to the outskirts of town where we were staying with brother Paul Rajkumar, whom Jefferson had met in Singapore. There were many people in the streets, and traffic was completely with pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, rickshaws, cars, buses, trucks and cows ...
4. The next day we had a wedding, where Jefferson was invited to preach because the missionary who was supposed to come had missed is flight in the USA because of bad weather. It was a special experience participate in a service whose purpose was the union of an Indian couple saved in Christ Jesus! The fellowship we had here was very special and we are certainly keeping these dear brothers in our hearts. And we want you to participate in this joy, to be part of the lives of these people that are in the furthermost part of the world for us Brazilians.
5. The next day we left for Gantok, capital of Sikkim, which is at an even higher elevation. It is a beautiful city embedded in the mountains. When I looked out the window at night, I thought I was seeing stars in beautiful Indian night. But they were homes in the mountains, like hundreds of lights on a Christmas tree. Thousands and thousands of people live there, spread over all those places where these missionaries are fighting to bring the Gospel.
6. We arrived in a town called Namshe. It was here that we got to know another church where a young pastor has reached many people for Christ. Pr Vishau Inlila and his wife, have done a wonderful job, and already has a good number of young people who are leaving to speak of Christ to their people. At church, the youth and children sing while they wait for the pastor to begin worship. They never get tired of singing. And we were welcomed with great joy and reverence, which is very common among them;

Pray also for our church in Curitiba, for our children who have stayed behind, for the brothers who have been so kind, and for Pastor Jim Star who invited us to accompany him. Pray for our health, that our financial support is sufficient for all this travel, and that we will be sensitive to God's guidance in the research we are doing. A big hug to everyone. In the love of Christ, Jefferson and Epi.
There are 14 children, 13 of whom are boys and only one girl, and are between 8 and 12 years of age. They are all orphans. The children are very well-behaved and always looking for a way to please and serve.
9. The women here and in all places, are servants who work tirelessly for the gospel and pray that their sons and husbands would be reached by the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. During this time we have also taken every opportunity to research prices and whatever else is necessary for our return if it be God's will for us, but mainly to know the missionaries and pastors who are already involved in ministry here in this strategic region of the country.
8. In Siliguri, the HIM (Himalayan Indigenous Ministries) conferences, which are supported by the Ministry of IGM (Asia Vision 2020), began. It was 3 days of intense programming, evangelistic services, meetings for the edification of believers, baptism of 6 new converts and the consecration of Pastor Bimal and 6 more workers with their wives for ministry. In those days, Jefferson preached every day along with Pastor Jim Star, an IGM missionary with whom we are making this trip.

10. The plan of the H.I.M. mission is the construction of a seminary in Siliguri so that missionaries of various regions and countries such as Nepal, China (Tibet), Bhutan, Bangladesh and Pakistan can be trained and prepared for effective evangelism and thus can return to their native people to carry the message of salvation through Jesus Christ and the establish local churches.
