Luiza Already Returned Luiza had a good trip, attended the MBBF 10 years conference, and also visited some churches. Wonderful Surprises We had a wonderful surprise with the visit of Mrs. Olga, Pastor Odenilson’s mother. She came to visit her son and see God's work here in Maputo and spent 37 days with us. Another illustrious visit happened on May with the arrival of our sister Raimunda Leal, from Bethany Baptist Church in El Salvador, who used her vacation to help us for a few days. Saved souls and souls gone to be with the Lord We praise the Lord for each life that he has added in his kingdom. We had several decisions for Christ in our church: Mary Juliano, Philip, Gerson and Tania have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Praise the name of the Lord, please pray for them. We also mourned the death of our beloved sister Otilia Martinez at 37 years of age, on May 27. She was the mother of some young people who are part of our church. Please pray for their comfort. Children’s Day On June 1st was Children's Day in Mozambique. We celebrated it the following Saturday and it was attended by 55 participants. "Good" Problems The congregation is growing; we now have three classes running: Adults, youth and adolescents. And so we have two rents to pay and other expenses have doubled. Pray that God will bless us financially so we can meet these commitments. Square Meter Campaign We have almost $ 5,000. Property prices here in the heart of Maputo average about $ 70,000. With this, we need your help and your prayers for God to raise up more brothers to contribute to this campaign. MBBF - BRADESCO AG. 929 C/Poup. 33585-1 Every $53.00 deposit is equal to one square meter. By doing this, you are participating in the progress of the kingdom of God through the construction of a church in the capital of Mozambique in Africa. Pastor Odenilson and Maria Luiza. Pastor Odenilson and Maria Luiza graduated from the Southern Regular Baptist Seminary in 2000 already with the desire to be missionaries in Africa, most especially in Mozambique, burning in their hearts. Seeking the will of God, they returned to Bahia where they were from. Pastor Odenilson assumed the pastorate of New Alliance Regular Baptist Church in Dias D'Avila, in the metropolitan region of Salvador. They also worked with professors from the Regular Baptist Seminary in Bahia and with the Independent Baptist Bible Institute. They joined MBBF in November of 2004. They received the support of AMIBREB - the Regular Baptist missionary Association of Bahia - and of the churches in Bahia. They arrived in Maputo in August of 2006 joining the missionary team in Bagamoio until God showed them where to start a new church. In October of 2007, they moved to the neighborhood of Alto Mae, closer to downtown, and began Bible studies with children, teens, and women. They closed in their backyard and began services. There! The second church in the city of Maputo was started! Odenilson and Maria Luiza have two adult sons that remain in Brazil.
