Pr. Luiz Miguel em Vargem Bonita :: More News Luiz Miguel and Debora are members of the Regular Baptist Church of Jardim Florense in Campinas, SP. They went to school at the Southern Regular Baptist Seminary and graduated in December of 2005. A few months before their graduation, they visited Serra da Canastra, and were absutely certain that was the place where God wanted them to work. With the approval of their church, they left for Serra da Canastra in February of 2006 to help with the work in Sao Roque de Minas, already considering a new work in the neighboring city of Vargem Bonita. Land with a house and a warehouse was bought and the church was inaugurated in September of 2006. They have lived in Vargem Bonita since then. Luiz Miguel and Debora joined MBBF in December of 2006. They have a daughter named Agnes.
Pray for us because we need wisdom to work in the power of the Lord even though God has used us to open doors for evangelism because people have been more open having faced these difficulties. We trust that the Lord will do miracles and save lives through Christ Jesus. That is our desire and prayer.
BROTHER CARLOS’ VISIT Last week we were blessed with the presence of Carlos Santos da Costa, member of Hope Baptist Church in Sao Paulo. We were richly blessed by his testimony and the messages from the Word of God that he brought us. During the days he spent with us, he joined us in the church activities, the Bible studies that we held and saw a couple get saved. We thank God for the life of this beloved brother and for the precious time of fellowship that we had. We will certainly be praying that our good God directs his steps regarding the future. PREACHING AT BBN At the end of October of last year, during a quick trip through Vale do Paraíba-SP, we visited BBN Radio International and I had the privilege of recording 7 messages that will be transmitted during the month of February on the program “Family Prayer” that will air Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 in the morning and 1:30 in the afternoon. RETREAT FOR YOUNG MEN Taking advantage of the vacation from school, we held a retreat with the young men of our church and the First Baptist Church of Canastra in São Roque in Minas. There were 12 participants including teens, adolescents and children. The main goal was to strengthen friendships and provide a unique and fun time for this group. It was cool and we hope to get together more and Debora plans to have a retreat for the girls. NEW CONSTRUCTION: WALLS AND ROOMS Thanks to the special offerings that we have received, we have been able to make some improvements to our church property. Last week we put up a wall, and put up a grate and a gate. It looks great. All we have left is the finishing. We are also building two big rooms with bathrooms on the property behind the parsonage. It is still in the beginning stages, but everything has gone well. Also, the street that the church is on is being paved so, soon, the external appearance of the church will be much better. A big hug, Pastor Luiz Miguel and family (Last Updated 02/15/2010)
