Dear brothers, we already miss you and hope you are well in the grace of our Lord. We hope that, in this missions month, every one of you will be challenged to be a missionary in your household, your neighborhood and also wherever God sends you. It is my joy to see that the church is involved with and dedicated to the continual growth of the missionary work. May we continue to be a blessing to others who need to know the Lord Jesus the same way that we have been blessed by wonderful North American missionaries. I thank you for the many brothers who came to help us in the work. I know you did a good job and there will be more opportunities for others to help us soon. We also give thanks for your financial support and your precious prayers. We are praying that the Lord be exalted in us as He has been through you, and remember that MISSIONS IS THE HEARTBEAT OF GOD. Our services are going well as visitors and new brothers have joined us and are helping with finances, visitation, and church services in the homes. It is a blessing. We are excited about the blessings of the Lord. With the help of the brothers from the Baptist Church of Rio Bonito, we poured the concrete for the pillars for the 2nd floor. On December 3rd, we poured the second concrete slab. Our family is doing well and we are happily living in one of the classrooms and worshipping the Lord in our building. Pray for us; we still need to plaster the pastor’s house and nursery. I leave you with a big hug. Stay strong in the grace of our Lord until his return. May the Lord bless you. Have a Merry Christmas and a blessed 2010. In Christ’s, Pastor Lúcio, Claudinéia and Ruth Rocha. (Last Updated 12/26/09) (Updated on 10/10/09)
Pastor Lucio and Claudineia met at the Southern Regular Baptist Seminary, both already having a love for missions in their heart. They were married in 2001 right after Lucio's graduation and began their ministry helping in a congregation in Pinhais, where they remained for almost two years. After Claudineia's graduation from the Seminary in 2003, they went to help missionaries in the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo. The work of church planting and the contact with thirsty souls only confirmed the conviction that they should go to the mission field of Mozambique, a goal they had had since being at the Seminary. After their examination, they were accepted as missionaries with MBBF in December of 2005 and were approved to begin raising support to become a part of the team in Maputo. However, God changed their plans, leading them to the interior of Sao Paulo. Lucio and Claudineia moved to Boituva in June of 2007 and began working with children and doing Bible studies.
