In the letter that she sent to MBBF to resign, she emphasized that her work will not cease: "I am teaching the Junior Class and helping in Children's Church, and helping to organize the Sunday School and Children's Church material. I am envisioning the beginning of a Bible Club in the following weeks. SHIRLEY was promoted to HEAVEN After becoming a tireless warrior in the work of the Lord as the wife, the firm foundation, and the faithful companion of our missionary, Pastor Josafa Serra, our missionary Shirley was promtoed to heaven on October 13, 2009, at the early age of 31 a victim of the flu virus A H1N1. The emotional funeral that took place the next day was attended by pastors and representatives from churches in Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Northern Parana, and various brethren from Arapongas, Parana, won and discipled by Shirley and Pastor Josafa. Our prayers should be for the family and for Moriah Baptist Church in Arapongas. Giovanna (12), Laura (7) and Pastor Josafa will need much comfort from God and our help to get over such a great loss. Meeting of the Executive Council The MBBF Executive Council met on Nov. 25, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church in Pinhais, PR, with presence of 11 advisers. Pastor Divino Amorim, our first missionary, gave us the honor of his presence since he is visiting Brazil. Issues related to the administration of MBBF were also on the agenda. The dates of the meetings for 2010 have also been scheduled: • July 02, 2010 – New LifeBaptist Church, in Barueri, SP, at 9 am; • November 24, 2010 – Salem Baptist Church, Pinhais, PR, at 9 am. The directors who want to learn more about the subject matter may request the minutes of the meeting from the secretaries. (Posted 11.27.09)
